Japanese Ambassador to Brazil Teiji Hayashi hosted a reception to commemorate Japan Self-Defense Forces Day at the Ambassador’s official residence in Brasilia.
The Japan Self-Defense Forces was founded on July 1, 1954, and this year marks the 69th anniversary of its founding. The Japan Self-Defense Forces Day was celebrated in grand style, with approximately 210 invited guests in attendance at the official residence. Among those in attendance were the Vice Chief of Staff of the Maritime Self-Defense Force and several members of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors from each of the armed forces (Navy, Army, and Air Force) as well as those working on public safety issues. The Embassy invited Japanese companies in public safety-related industries to present their solutions.
